The simple answer is basically it does not. For all intents and purposes the courts are open for business in a limited capacity. Pleadings are being filed, discovery is occurring, and judges are in fact ruling on cases. The only real true aspect that has been held up is court appearances in an actual court. Courts will eventually fully reopen, opposing counsel will continue to litigate on the issues that you the client have. The legal issues will not go simply disappear because of this crisis. In other words, this partial shutdown may delay things for a while but that’s all, only delay!
